The new SITRANS F is a cost-effective meter for measuring liquid flows. It involves a totally new patent which is unique to Siemens. A key point is that the flow meter is profile-independent, thereby guaranteeing a highly accurate reading. A further benefit of the SITRANS F ultrasonic flow meter is that it can directly replace conventional flow meters (e.g. electromagnetic, vortex etc.)

The SITRANS F ultrasonic flow meter will compete directly with vortex-type flow meters, which normally offer turn-down ratios of around 10:1 maximum. SITRANS F provides much greater versatility, enabling it to be used for the widest possible range of flow applications. Accuracy is dependent on turn-down and stands at 1% at 100:1 turn-down and 0.5% at 25:1 turn-down. The unit offers 4-20mA, with HART output as standard, and features local parameterization via an optical touch screen.

  • SITRANS F Ultrasonic flowmeters

SITRANS F is characterized by the following features:

  • Flow measurements with laminar and turbulent flows and also in the transition region

  • High measuring accuracy over a very wide flow range as a result of the helical scanning of the flow profile

  • Nominal diameters from DN 25 to DN 100

  • Compact design

  • Metering tube and flange made of stainless steel

  • Separate junction box

  • High long-term stability resulting from digital signal processing  EMC-tested to EN 50 081, EN 50 082 and NAMUR

  • Self-monitoring/diagnosis

  • Analog output and two digital outputs for pulses, device status, limits, flow direction

  • Outputs electrically isolated from the power supply and from one another HART communication

  • Simple menu-based operation with two-line display and four optical input elements

  • Measurement of wall thickness of metering tube on request.
